What is the Montessori Method?
The Montessori Method is an educational approach developed more than 100 years ago by Italian physician and educator Dr. Maria Montessori. Through her scientific observation of children, Dr. Montessori discovered that even the youngest children are naturally curious, capable learners who thrive in environments designed to support their independence and development.

The first years of life are a time of extraordinary growth. During infancy, the brain develops more rapidly than at any other stage of life, forming millions of neural connections that lay the foundation for language, movement, emotional security, and future learning.

A Montessori Infant & toddler environment is intentionally designed to support this remarkable period of development. Rather than a traditional daycare setting focused primarily on care and supervision, a Montessori environment combines nurturing care with purposeful learning experiences that respect each child's natural development. Low shelves, natural materials, and developmentally appropriate objects invite young ones to explore at their own pace.

Peaceful and attentive caregivers support infants by talking with them, singing, reading, and responding to their cues. These interactions help build strong language skills, trust, and emotional security while nurturing the child’s natural wonder about the world around them.
